Cali Turkey Burgers

Serves:

4 people

Ingredients

  • 1.2 lb ground chicken 

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1 avocado

  • 1-2 very thin slices of red onion

  • 2 garlic cloves , minced

  • 1/2 tsp dried sage

  • 1/2 tsp salt and pepper

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 soft burger buns or sesame seed buns

  • 1 avocado

  •  arugula or other lettuce of choice

  • 1 tomatoes , sliced

Steps

  1. Mix the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, sage, salt and pepper into a bowl.

  2. Form 4 patties, 1.5cm / 3/5″ thick, slightly larger than the buns (shrinks slightly). 

  3. Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat. Add patties, working in batches. Cook for 2 minutes or until deep golden, then flip.

  4. Scoop out avocado from skin and smash on top of pattie with fork

  5. Assemble with onion, bun, lettuce and tomato.
